Please Note: A Gorilla Habituation Experience Safaris is not for everyone. It is an all-day trek in a Rainforest made up of Ridges and Valleys. It is a long day, from early in the morning to late afternoon.
A moderate fitness level is required, and we strongly recommend that you use a porter for assistance on the all-day trek. We also suggest that you consider taking some walks and hikes in your country before arriving for your Gorilla Habituation Experience.

Kigali Airport Arrival Information: Arrival Aiport pick up and arrival and departure Hotel and airport drop-off can be included in this Safari.
The East African Visa is best for this Safari. That can be obtained online with Rwanda Immigration. It can also be obtained on arrival in Kigali. The Yellow Fever Certificate is needed at the Ugandan border.
The 3 -Day Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari in Detail:
Day1-Drive to the Rushaga area of Bwindi Forest from Kigali:
Your driver-guide picks you up at your Hotel in Kigali at 7:00 am. A pickup at Kigali airport can also be arranged.
The drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is through the Gorilla Highlands of Rwanda and Uganda. It is one of the most scenic Drives in Africa with its terraced hills, majestic lakes, and verdant valleys.
The Rwandan-Uganda border crossing takes about 30 minutes. Officials on both sides are friendly and welcoming.
You arrive at the comfortable, midrange Lake Mulehe Lodge. We have used Lake Mulehe Lodge for our clients (formerly Bwindi Jungle Lodge) for over seven years.
This is an excellent lodge with splendid views of the Virunga Volcanoes and Lake Mulehe. There are cottages with en-suite baths that overlook Lake Mulehe.
The reason that we continue to use the lodge is because of the service and price. None of our clients have ever complained about the lodge.
Meals are pleasant and a fusion of local African ingredients and Continental and International offerings.
Optional Afternoon Activities at Lake Mulehe Lodge: Dugout Canoeing, Birding, Village Walk, Hiking, Biking, Nature Walks with Guides.

Day 2 – Gorilla Habituation Experience – Rushaga:
Early Breakfast and take your packed lunch from the lodge. For Gorilla Gear – have a daypack, 3 liters of water, 
daypack, long trousers, gardening gloves for pulling yourself up on branches, long-sleeved shirt. Waterproof boots, hat, rain jacket, use a walking stick, and the services of a porter at a small cost – let our Driver-Guide negotiate the price and arrange the porter for you.
Meet the researchers, trackers and guides and head for the location of your gorilla family group being habituated and your four hours in their presence and learning their ways.
With the trek in and trek out, the 4-hours with a gorilla family, this is an all-day activity. There are only four-participants and not eight like regular gorilla trekking.

We drive to Mgahinga Gorilla Park and meeting with Rangers for a Golden Monkey Orientation before you head up into the Bamboo Forest found in the Virunga Volcanoes, three of which are in Uganda.
The Beautiful Golden Monkeys weigh about 15 Kilos. and are quite active. They will be moving all-around you, overhead in the trees. You have to take some quick pictures.
The trek lasts 3 hours, and afterward, we depart for Kigali Drive Time to Kigali is 3-hours plus, we do gain one hour crossing Time Zones at the border.
Drop off at the airport 3 hours before your flight and the end of your moderately priced 3 Day Gorilla Habituation Experience.
