Chobe Lodge awaits you in Uganda’s largest Wildlife Reserve along the River Nile – Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda.

Day 1 – Ziwa Rhino Reserve – Chobe Safari Lodge:
Depart your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala at 6:30 AM driving through the verdant Ugandan countryside on Tarmac road to Chobe Lodge near the scenic Karuma Falls. Our first stop of the day is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a large preserve where Rhinos are bred to see them released into the wild in nearby Murchison Falls Park. In the meantime, you can track them here on foot and get within 10 meters of them as Rangers guide you through the Sanctuary.
The Rhino Trek is about 2 hours long, and it is an opportunity for some great photos, one of our clients won the first price in a photo contest with a picture taken here at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
After the Rhino Trek, we continue to the nearby Chobe Safari Lodge, which is a 1 1/2 hour drive where you check in and enjoy lunch overlooking the Nile River.
In the late after you have the choice of either a Game Drive in a Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof that allows you to stand for better viewing and picture-taking. The other option is a Nature Walk with a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger – during this walk, you most often see a variety of wildlife including Giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, birds and much more.
Both the Game Drive or Nature Walk is 3-Hours in length and are over before Sunset which you can enjoy back at Chobe Safari Lodge. Try a Sundowner Ugandan style – Ugandan Waragi with a Krest Bitter Lemon.

Chobe Safari Lodge on the River Nile:
.Chobe Safari Lodge is a 5-Star Resort along the River Nile. It is a case of a Phoenix Rising from the ashes or in this case the ruins of the original Lodge which was destroyed during Uganda’s troubling years that began when Idi Amin closed Uganda to Tourists. The present Lodge is a far cry from the former.
You can choose from a standard room, deluxe room or suite, there are standard tents – the word standard is a misnomer since they exceed many of the up-market Tented Lodges in the country, luxurious tents, and super-deluxe tent for those that want to supersize their tented cottage experience at Chobe Safari Lodge. Day 2- Murchison Falls National Park:
Enjoy a cup of coffee and you are off for your morning game drive – or enjoy breakfast before the morning game drive – the choice is yours – Game drives can be started at 6:30 am, and you can see the morning mist on the savannah as Sun rises for another day in the African Wild of Uganda at Murchison Falls National Park.
Another option that can be arranged is a bush breakfast for you – hopefully, others will have signed up for this most meaningful time making the price per person more affordable since there is a lot of planning that goes into a creating a breakfast in the Bush. Those that go for the Bush Breakfast option find it as one of the highlights of their safari in the African Bush.
The four-wheel drive safari vehicle is equipped with a pop-up roof for best game viewing, and on a game drive we always use a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger to enhance your time on a game drive which results in more wildlife sightings and a great background to the habits and ways of the wildlife found on a game drive.
Lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge
Late afternoon game drives when the sun is not as bright, and it is one of the best times of the day to take pictures for the best results.

Day 3 – Chimpanzee Trekking – Kampala – Entebbe:
Morning and it is the Chobe Safari Lodge Breakfast Experience – only a delight.
We depart Chobe Safari Lodge and head for Karuma Falls where the Nile tumbles downward headed for Lake Albert, Sudan, and Egypt.
Afterward, we continue the short drive to Budongo Forest which is part of the Murchison Falls National Park – where you enjoy lunch at the Budongo Forest Eco-Lodge, and afterward, it is chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest.
It is about a three-hour experience, and you see other primates, birds, butterflies, and mammals while you are on your chimpanzee trek.
After the chimpanzee trek – we journey to Kampala or Entebbe arriving in the early evening in the city that never sleeps.
