Most of our Clients choose flying into Kigali – Rwanda and take the scenic 4-hour drive with us to the Rushaga & Nkuringo Areas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

This allows you to do a Gorilla Habituation Experience in just 3 days and you can include a Village walk and a walk in the Buniga Forest with the original people of the Forest, the Batwa Pygmies.
This has become one of the favorite ways with our upmarket clients in getting to the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The Cost for a one-way flight is 353 USD.
The flight is 1 1/2 hours in length and is always one of the most scenic flights in Uganda.

into Kigali-Rwanda – Trek Gorillas – Gorilla Habituation Experience in Uganda:
Visitors to Africa do not realize as to how close Rwanda and Uganda are to each other. They are neighbors and the southern end of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest including the Rushaga and Nkuringo areas.
It is only 4 hours from Kigali compared to 9 to 10 hours from Entebbe International Airport. (Drive time Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is 2 1/2 hours – but you save 900 USD which will pay even for two nights lodge lodging at the luxury Gorilla Safari Lodge in Rushaga plus have extra money left over.
Obtain an East African Tourism Visa and Yellow Fever Certificate and you are set to Gorilla Trek and do the Gorilla Habituation Experience in Rushaga – Uganda.
While on this safari you can combine the best of Rwanda and Uganda in one Safari which is an added plus.
Flying into Rwanda and doing a Gorilla Habituation Experience in Uganda makes practical sense. You can also fly into Kigali from Arusha, Tanzania or Nairobi, Kenya.
Drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Southern Bwindi:
You can choose to drive from Entebbe – Kampala to the Rushaga area which is 10 hour plus ride each way.
The best way is to incorporate the Gorilla Habituation Experience into a longer Safari beginning with a 6-day safari or longer.
You cut the drive times by driving from Kampala to Kibale Forest for Chimpanzee Trekking or an all-day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, including a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park, Gorilla Trek or the Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Forest and either continue to Kigali, Rwanda or Entebbe for your flight out.
An alternative option, that many of our Clients take advantage of is to begin your safari in Entebbe and end it in Kigali for your flight out.
This is done by many of our clients who are on safari for 7 days or longer with us.
Incorporate the Gorilla Habituation Experience into your Safari:
Land in Entebbe and your safari begins taking in the wildlife, chimpanzees, parks of Uganda. End up in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Forest where you participate in the Gorilla Habituation Experience.
Afterward, continue the Safari in Rwanda and fly back home from Kigali Rwanda. The Kigali airport is only 3 1/2 hours plus from the Rushaga area of Bwindi Forest.
You can purchase a visa for Uganda for 50 USD at the border, if you cross back into Rwanda then the East African Visa will be best for you.
You apply online to the first country that you enter.
The Yellow Fever Certificate is required for entrance into Uganda and re-entrance into Rwanda.
