Arrival Day in Kigali Rwanda for your Private 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari: Many flights from Europe arrive during the evening others at night at Kigali International Airport, the Gateway not only to Rwanda – but to Southwest Uganda. Day 1 – Drive to Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda:
Your 3 Day Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari begins as we leave your hotel in Kigali at 6:30 am or the Kigali Airport for your moderately priced Safari. The drive time to Rushaga is about 4 hours plus depending on Border Crossing – Visa for Uganda is 50 USD. You can also get an East African Visa from Rwanda’s Ministry of Migration or on arrival, request the East African Visa.
Usually, the border crossing is about 30 to 45 minutes, and you are in Uganda heading for the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The Route you are on from Kigali to Bwindi is one of the most scenic drives in East Africa.
We arrive in Rushaga, the Southern area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and check into Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge located on the lake.
Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge (formerly Bwindi Jungle Lode)is an excellent lodge with splendid views of the Virunga Volcanoes located on scenic Lake Mulehe. The food is one of the European-Ugandan 
Fusion, the service is excellent, and the stone cottages are perfect for your stay while doing Gorilla Trekking or the Gorilla Habituation Experience in the Rushaga Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking – Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:
Early Breakfast and take your packed lunch from the lodge. For Gorilla Trekking Gear. Having the right gear and wearing the right clothes and boots make a difference in the quality of a Trek that you will have.
It begins with a daypack, 2 liters of water that we supply. For protection, it is long trousers and a long-sleeved shirt. Sturdy gardening gloves for protection and pulling yourself up on branches. Waterproof boots, hat, rain jacket, use a walking stick, and the services of a porter at a small cost.

The Gorilla Trekking Orientation:
Here you receive instruction about the Gorilla Trek. You are assigned your Gorilla Family based on your input. Your age, level of fitness are also taken into account.
Most often you track the Gorilla Groups that you like, and we will help you in that with the Park Staff. Trekking times vary between three and six hours depending on the gorilla group you will be trekking on your day.
If you have physical limitations, you can still do still visit a gorilla family. Let us know and we will make the necessary arrangements.
A Gorilla Trek is unpredictable. It is not a staged event on an itinerary. We set up the encounter. The rangers take you to the spot where the Gorilla Family is. The actual meeting with the Gorilla Family is up to the Gorillas. 99% plus of the time it is beyond your wildest dreams.
Sightings are 99%+ sure. It is very rare that someone misses seeing the gorilla group that they were assigned.
At the end of the trek, you return to the trailhead where you are met by your driver-guide and returned to the lodge.
We take you back to the lodge after your trek.

Day 3- Return to Kigali:
Breakfast and we return to Kigali
Optional Golden Monkey Trekking – $90 per person: Before crossing the border into Rwanda, we stop at Mgahinga Gorilla Park to trek the Golden Monkeys found here. There are over 3000 Golden Monkeys on the Ugandan side of the Virunga Volcanoes. This morning you will trek them in the Bamboo Forests on the bottom of the Volcanoes in the Park.
You will encounter a habituated group of about 100 monkeys that will make the forest come alive with activity as they flit all around you, over you, near you, ever active. You have to be quick with picture taking on this morning, and it is best to take many photos and keep the best.
This is a 3 hour Trek, and afterward, we cross the border into Rwanda and head for Kigali.
We will drop off at the airport 3-hours before your flight and the end of your moderately priced 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari. Rwanda is on Central African Time, and we gain one hour when we cross from Uganda into Rwanda.
