Dense, lush and otherworldly, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the last redoubts of the mountain gorilla. Over 400 call this UNESCO-protected national park home, with the chance for visitors to trek to and meet habituated groups. Its biodiversity extends far beyond its most famous inhabitants. However, 348 bird species and 220 butterfly species can be found within its 331-square-kilometer expanse.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – even the Word Bwindi means darkness, and yet it is the furthest thing from reality, it is an incredibly Beautiful Park filled with an abundance of life. Home to Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Colobus Monkeys. Pottos, Bushbabies, rare cats, Forest Elephants with their extra toe, straight tusks.
The Mountain Gorillas attract most Visitors, but it is also one of the most Biodiverse Forests in Africa, add to that a Premier African Birding Destination, a Hikers Paradise aided by its pleasant temperatures.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is not home to Mountain Gorillas. Still, it was the home of the Batwa People who were the First People of the Forest that lived in harmony with nature, leaving a small ecological footprint yet became Conservation Refugees when Bwindi Forest became an official park and Gorilla Sanctuary in 1991. Today you can experience and see the Forest through their eyes on the Batwa Experience in the Buhoma area of Bwindi Forest.

We Know Bwindi Impenetrable Forest well, we have trekked Mountain Gorillas there, traversed the park via its scenic Trails, we have even biked in the Forest.
