Gorilla Permit Availability: The peak season months of July, August, and September hare often sold ahead of time. There are permits here and there but not in abundance. We suggest that you act in a timely fashion. Otherwise, you might have an itinerary, but no permit.

This moderately priced Gorilla Trekking Safari takes place in the Buhoma Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Buhoma is the closest gorilla trekking area to Kampala and Entebbe. It is, however, still a shorter drive coming from Kigali, Rwanda, to Buhoma.
It was the first area of the park developed for Gorilla Trekking Tourism, and today it is the most developed area of the park.
If Permits are not available in the Buhoma area, then for this Safari, the trekking will be done in the Ruhija area of the park.

The Rushaga area is the best in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest southern region. The Southern Area of Bwindi has 6 Gorilla Groups that can be visited on a Gorilla Trek. It translates into 48 permits per day,
The Rushaga Area Gorillas are easily reached from Kigali Rwanda. The drive time from Kigali to Rushaga is 4 hours plus depending on the Border Crossing and the current Road conditions.
From Entebbe to Rushaga, it is a 9-hour drive, making it logical to fly into Kigali and trek Gorillas in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The added plus is that you save 900 USD on Gorilla Permits in Uganda compared to Rwanda.
The Added plus is that you can add on Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla Park.
