Gorilla Safari Lodge in the Rushaga Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a quality upmarket Lodge on the affordable end for upmarket lodges in the Forest. You are close to the Rushaga Park Headquarters for Gorilla Trekking and a short drive to the Trailhead for the Gorilla Habituation Experience.

This nicely designed Lodge straddles the boundary line of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. If you are coming to Bwindi to track the great apes in the southern area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this is the place to stay.
It is also the only area in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you can go on a Gorilla Habituation Experience, which means 4 hours with the Mountain Gorillas.
Gorilla Safari Lodge gives visitors sweeping views of the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and beyond. You are not far from Park headquarters in the Rushaga area of the park, and you do not have to drive great distances on the morning of your gorilla trek.
When it comes to the Lodge itself, you will find it most enjoyable. It is small and intimate. It is composed of the Main Lodge, which includes the restaurant, bar, and a lounge where one can relax and sit back – there is usually a fire in the evening, which adds to the ambiance of Gorilla Safari Lodge. The food is excellent and expertly prepared for the guests, and vegetarians can easily be accommodated.
For the guests, there are eight cottages, two of which are double-roomed family units for families or those traveling together. The rooms are nicely furnished, and one of the added pluses is that each cottage has a fireplace to take the chill out of the cold Bwindi Impenetrable Forest nights. It does get chilly here due to the elevation of the area. The cottages are solar-powered, and there is plenty of hot water for a nice shower after gorilla tracking.
