The Bwamba Pass Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon Mini-Hike:
The Bwamba Pass Trail you will be hiking on was the best way for people in the remote town of Bundibugyo on the border with the Congo to get to Fort Portal. This was the most direct route in either direction before a road was built in 1938.
Today as you take this ancient footpath you will meet People still using this path today that uses this tough, 1,500-meter high trail that takes you through isolated Mountain Villages and Hamlets along the Way.
Hiking Trails take you to places that you cannot get to by road and so does the Rwenzori Mountains Bwamba Pass Mini-Hike that takes you through Bamboo Forest where you will be greeted by views of the Western Rift Valley, see primates, birds and mammals and most likely Chameleons including the colorful 3-horned Rhino Chameleon.
Your Guides are from the Abanya Community Group and the trail can begin near Fort Portal at the Kazingo UWA Trailhead or in Bundibugyo
